Here’s another helpful typing game to pair with the Hancom typing game I’ve mentioned before! Sam, the creator, shared it with me and I really think it can be a great asset to add in when trying to master your Korean typing.

Korean Typing Game

Korean Typing Game

Simply titled Korean Typing Game, the game starts out slowly. Introducing you to new keys and using words to help you practice and build up the muscle memory for typing. Then once you finish each lesson or practice session there are statistics for each key.

Korean Typing Game Stats

The stats from hovering over a key show how far you are with it, your speed, and which keys you mistook it for. Then on the side, there are stats from the lesson or session as you can see in my example above. You also listen to each word as they come up, with over 400 featured words/phrases.

The game is currently just for desktop view and works without switching to the Korean keyboard on your computer. As you play the next key lights up on the screen (and lights up red with a mistake). So even if you don’t have a Korean keyboard you can play and develop your Korean typing.

Keyboard Stickers are a Huge Help

I mentioned for the last game, I highly recommend them to get used to the keyboard layout as you learn! There are a lot of options for Korean keyboard stickers out there, to fit your keyboard aesthetic no matter which colour, font, or design you prefer. Keyboard stickers can be pretty cheap and you probably only need to buy them once.

When I was first learning to type Korean I did a lot of pecking and deleting as I tested which key was which haha. With a helpful game like this and keyboard stickers, you can skip over that and not waste your time getting frustrated as I did!
